Christian Women and Modern China presents a social history of women pioneers in Chinese Protestantism from the 1880s to the 2010s. Through the lens of modern Chinese literature, Gender Politics in Modern China explores the relationship between gender and modernity, notions of the feminine and masculine, and shifting arguments for gender equality in China.
