The title of this book is derived from the book of Leviticus, chapter 18 vs 24 & 25: Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth our her inhabitants . Good readers of the Bible will notice that some expressions used in scripture would require spiritual interpretation before the message God is relaying through such expressions can be properly understood. The above scripture quoted from the book of Leviticus was talking about certain sins which the original inhabitants of the land of Canaan were committing for which they were being vomited out. In that same chapter 18, in the earlier verses before verse 24, these sins were listed. They ranged from all manner sexual sins to sins of idolatry and witchcraft. These sins will be examined in detail in subsequent chapters. The simple interpretation of the above scripture is this: The sins of the people defile the land, and God therefore punishes the land for their sins. But then the land refuses the punishment and therefore vomits out the perpetrators of such sins. There are so many strange things happening in our world today that are defying human explanations. Some of these we will be looking at in the light of the above quoted scripture. One thing about the word of God is that it never grows old and neither does it expire. The effect the word had in Biblical times is the same as today. Humanity has grown so much in terms of technological advancement that God and His word are becoming more and more unreal in their eyes. This book will attempt to offer explanations to why disasters happen in certain areas and in people s lives based on that statement in Leviticus 18 about the earth vomiting out a people from an area.

The land is an important theme in the Bible. It is a theme through which the whole biblical history found in the Old and New Testaments can be studied and analyzed. Looking at the land in the Bible from its beginnings in the garden of Eden this publication approaches the theme from three distinct perspectives – holiness, the covenant, and the kingdom. Through careful analysis the author recognises that the land has been universalized in Christ, as anticipated in the Old Testament, and as a result promotes a missional theology of the land that underlines the social and territorial dimensions of redemption.

This volume discusses the Hebrew term 'eres' which is prominently used in Creation and Land theologies in the Bible. Uemura examines whether the term signifies the 'earth' or the 'Land' and traces the historical development of its uses in relation to these two meanings. He offers a survey of all of the occurrences of this term, categorizes them, and discusses the problematic instances in all of the surviving Hebrew and Aramaic texts. Uemura's examination begins with an analysis of the terms under discussion literally and stylistically in order to discern the semantic field of each term, as well as to determine its stylistic idiomatic uses. He discusses the uses of these two terms in ancient non-Jewish circumstances using materials taken from Phoenician, New Punic, Moabite and Aramaic inscriptions, as well as from an Aramaic papyri from Egypt and Nabataean papyri from Nahal Hever. The aim of this study is to show a cultural background of uses of these terms and Uemura sheds light on the biblical worldview in the Graeco-Roman period. >

Many erroneous concepts and practices inhabit this old world; and even the church world. This book exposes a lot of them. And of course, if it is erroneous, then the devil is behind it; for he is a liar and the father of lies and liars. Which makes this book a very timely work. God is the same as He has always been; so is the devil; so is lost mankind; so is religion! The outward appearances may be different in these modern times, but underneath, the devil, lost man, and even religion are basically the same as they have been in every generation. The main truth this book emphasizes is that Satan is a diabolical character, but a shrewd one; requiring that he hide behind people, institutions, ideas and concepts that come across as genuine and on the up and up. Why would Satan have to hide his actions and purposes if they were the right kind of actions and purposes? The reader may be surprised, and perhaps even shocked, at some of the places the devil hides behind. Read and find out.
