SUPERDEAL . . . The successful business deal. Anyone can walk this road to wealth -- anyone, that is, who is willing to invest the work and watch for opportunities. Even in the high-technology environment that prevails today superdealers are making it. In the 21st Century the opportunities will proliferate. From today's ratio of one millionaire to every 400 Americans, the figures may go to one in 300, one in 200 . . . That's the central theme of Adam Starchild's book, SUPERDEAL: The Art of Wheeling & Dealing. The book is based on extensive research as well as on his own experience as a financial consultant. He doesn't glamorize or gloss over the challenge of becoming a superdealer. He does lay out in great detail how you can approach that challenge, prepare for it, meet it, master it. He explains . . . - What a superdeal is, and how it correlates with the amount of time and money risked . . . - Why the superdeal approach is the logical way to go in today's economy . . . - How you can start small and pyramid less spectacular superdeals into more spectacular ones . . . - Why the superdealer has to stay clean in a legal sense . . - Where financing comes from . . . - What international superdeal opportunities to look for . . - How to assess the market or a single opportunity . . . - The importance of timing in carryout out a superdeal . . . - The questions you should ask - and answer - before taking the plunge into a superdeal. Numerous case histories are cited. This is a hugely useful and down-to-earth how-to book for all those who have ever considered superdealing on any scale - with all that that implies in terms of independence, dedication to work, and creative spirit. Over the past 25years, Adam Starchild has been the author of over two dozen books, and hundreds of magazine articles, primarily on business and finance. His articles have appeared in a wide range of publications around the world - including Business Credit, Euromoney, Finance, The Financial Planner, International Living, Offshore Financial Review, Reason, Tax Planning International, The Bull & Bear, Trust & Estates, and many more. Now semi-retired, he was the president of an international consulting group specializing in banking, finance and the development of new businesses, and director of a trust company. Although this formidable testimony to expertise in his field, plus his current preoccupation with other books-in-progress, would not seem to leave time for a well-rounded existence, Starchild has won two Presidential Sports Awards and written several cookbooks, and is currently involved in a number of personal charitable projects. Paralyzed from the neck down, Gordon Zahler rose from his deathbed to a fast-talking Hollywood entrepreneur/idea man who traveled the world, lived hard, and chased his dreams to create one of the largest independent post-production shops in Hollywood. This is also a tip of the hat to the man who turned his back on the notion of "I can't."

Wheeling and Dealing is a vivid account of the world inhabited by "wholesale" illicit drug traffickers. Based on six years of participant observation, fieldwork, and extensive interviews in an elite Southern California community of dealers, the book gives a rare glimpse into the decadent yet fascinating "subculture of drug trafficking and unending partying, mixed with occasional cloak-and-dagger subterfuge." This second edition brings the story up to date by revealing the fate of several of Adler's key informants. By tracing their lives over a fifteen-year span, Adler offers a unique longitudinal perspective on deviant careers and the reintegration of dealers into conventional society. She also analyzes the unintended consequences of the federal government's war on drugs, tying it to the increasing violence and organizational sophistication of drug traffickers and the rise of international cartels.

The 60-acre campus of Wheeling Jesuit University is located in the eastern suburbs of Wheeling, West Virginia. Originally named Wheeling College, it is the youngest of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. John Swint, bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, and the Jesuits founded Wheeling College as a traditional, coeducational, liberal arts institution. In time, faculty and students became quite diverse, and programs of study proliferated. The institution added "Jesuit" to its name in 1988 to become Wheeling Jesuit College and, eight years later, became a university and modified its name accordingly. In 1994, the board of directors approved a mission statement that calls on Wheeling Jesuit University to educate men and women for life, leadership, and service with and among others.
