Every bath time promises an adventure under the sea! When Kady gets into the bathtub, waves appear, and they get bigger, and BIGGER, and BIGGER! Kady can’t help but sing the bathtub song: “Imagining the ocean, I can see / waves in the bathtub here with me. / I see creatures big and small. / Lots of fish! I like them all.” Kady likes walruses and pelicans, big whales and little snails. When she sings, a magical world comes to life beneath the waters. Kady rides dolphins, swims with otters, and even snuggles a polar bear. Her bathtub world is filled with fishy friends and exotic water creatures. This book is perfect for tickling the imagination and getting children excited about bath time. Eugenie Fernandes’ fun-filled illustrations give little readers all kinds of things to look for and pay attention to. Kady’s cat is right beside her in every picture, and whether she’s being captured by an octopus, riding an orca, or just playing with Kady’s toes, she’s sure to bring a smile. Wonderful details will make this a go-to picture book that children will want to pore over time and time again. Sheet music for the simple song is included at the end of the story. Sky Pony Press, with our Good Books, Racehorse and Arcade imprints, is proud to publish a broad range of books for young readers—picture books for small children, chapter books, books for middle grade readers, and novels for young adults. Our list includes bestsellers for children who love to play Minecraft; stories told with LEGO bricks; books that teach lessons about tolerance, patience, and the environment, and much more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

Tomorrow's nanoscientist will have a truly interdisciplinary and nano-centric education, rather than, for example, a degree in chemistry with a specialization in nanoscience. For this to happen, the field needs a truly focused and dedicated textbook. This full-color masterwork is such a textbook. It introduces the nanoscale along with the societal

Boost student interest and understanding in the physical sciences! Teaching physical science in the elementary and middle grades can be challenging for busy teachers faced with growing demands and limited resources. Robert Prigo provides fun and engaging activities using safe, available materials that educators can easily incorporate into lesson plans. Extensive examples, sample inquiry questions, and ideas for initiating units are readily available for teachers to pick and choose from to meet student needs. The result of more than two decades of professional development work with hundreds of teachers and administrators, this resource addresses specific areas of physical science, including motion and force, waves and sound, light and electromagnetic waves, and more. Dozens of activities demonstrating physics in action help students of all ages relate physics principles to their everyday experiences. This practitioner-friendly resource helps teachers: • Address the "big ideas" in K–8 science education • Promote student understanding with ready-to-use learning experiences • Use hands-on activities to help students make larger, real-world connections • Assemble classroom learning centers to facilitate deeper understanding of basic physics principles With conceptual summaries to support teachers' proficiency and understanding of the content, this guidebook is ideal for bringing physics to life for students in the classroom and in their lives!

How Do Waves Move? explores what ocean waves are and how they move. Young readers will be delighted to learn that waves are the result of energy moving through water, not of the water itself moving across long distances. This highly visual volume traces the discovery of wave theory and explains the principles of friction and inertia, using examples kids can relate to and practical exercises that demonstrate how waves are formed.

This is an introductory book about nonlinear waves. It focuses on two properties that various different wave phenomena have in common, the "nonlinearity" and "dispersion", and explains them in a style that is easy to understand for first-time students. Both of these properties have important effects on wave phenomena. Nonlinearity, for example, makes the wave lean forward and leads to wave breaking, or enables waves with different wavenumber and frequency to interact with each other and exchange their energies. Dispersion, for example, sorts irregular waves containing various wavelengths into gentler wavetrains with almost uniform wavelengths as they propagate, or cause a difference between the propagation speeds of the wave waveform and the wave energy. Many phenomena are introduced and explained using water waves as an example, but this is just a tool to make it easier to draw physical images. Most of the phenomena introduced in this book are common to all nonlinear and dispersive waves. This book focuses on understanding the physical aspects of wave phenomena, and requires very little mathematical knowledge. The necessary minimum knowledges about Fourier analysis, perturbation method, dimensional analysis, the governing equations of water waves, etc. are provided in the text and appendices, so even second- or third-year undergraduate students will be able to fully understand the contents of the book and enjoy the fan of nonlinear wave phenomena without relying on other books.

The maturation of nanotechnology has revealed it to be a unique and distinct discipline rather than a specialization within a larger field. Its textbook cannot afford to be a chemistry, physics, or engineering text focused on nano. It must be an integrated, multidisciplinary, and specifically nano textbook. The archetype of the modern nano textbook
