The Census, which was conducted by personal canvass of business establishments, was taken in accordance with the provisions of the act of June 19, 1948 (62 Stat. 478; 13 U. S. C. 121 This act provides for a census of business to cover the year 1948 and every fifth year thereafter. Previous business censuses covered the years 1929, 1933, 1935, and 1939.
