The Susquehanna River Basin Flood Control Review Study reports on data compiled from investigation of flood prone areas in the Basin and presents a broad view of the overall study. Its purpose is to provide water resource planners, scientists and other interested parties with information on potential flood control improvements. Included in the report are results of preliminary studies and reviews made to determine the feasibility of flood control improvements for areas in the Basin with significant flood problems. The Study reviews prior reports and their recommendations to determine if revisions should be made and seeks to identify those projects that warrant further detailed study. It also identifies feasible plans for reduction of flood damage within the Study area. In addition, the report presents information on the flood history of the area, its available natural resources, socio-economic history, sources of water and power supply, and recreational opportunities. The Federal and State agencies that participated in the Study, with and under the direction of the Baltimore District, Corps of Engineers, prepared the sections of the report that fall under their area of expertise.
