Henry the Very Hungry Mouse is about a little mouse that lived in my garden wall. Henry is a young, handsome, Louisiana man. He lives in St. Mary's Parish, near the city of New Orleans. He lives in his family's Plantation, Idle Wile' on the Bank of the 'Big Muddy, the Mississippi River. The beautiful Bayou Teche' runs through this property as well. Henry's family, living with him on Idle Wile' plantation, are his Mother, Amy, his brothers Noah and Ben, his sisters Madeline and Bella and his Nephew Josh. Henry's four Uncles and Aunts and their families live along the Bank of the Ole' Muddy as well, in five Plantations they have built, with the help of their family, friends and workers. The thousands of arpants, the French word for acres, of land owned by the Arrington Family, was awarded by the Queen of France in a Land Grant for two hundred thousand acres of Prime Louisiana Land. Henry's father, Gustave, worked for the Queen in Translating the English Language into the French Language, for the business of the French Court to understand and apply it's wishes, where Louisiana was concerned.

This is the story of a 14 year old boy during the last month of World War II. It is the story of a flight from the invading Russian Army that started in a small town in the former Free State of Danzig and ended in a small village near Hanover. A flight that began by horse drawn wagon trying to cross the Weichsel river to out-run the Russian steamroller. After ten days on the road filled with refugees from the eastern parts of Germany, a rail road station was reached and the journey continued by train. Stops were made on the way until the Russian army again was in striking distance and a new journey began. In a small village in the Province of Schleswig-Holstein news of the German capitulation was received. One more trip was required to join part of the family. Once they arrived at their final destination a nine month odyssey was over. The family was partially united again.
