Col. Arthur Erwin was probably born and Camlin Parish, Antrim County, Uster, Ireland, in 1726, probably the son of Joseph Erwin. He married Mary Scott in Ireland. They had seven children, 1756-1767. The family immigrated to America in 1768 and settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Mary Scott Erwin died at sea. He married 2) Mary Kennedy, daughter of William and Mary Ann Henderson Kennedy. They had six children, 1770-1786. He served as a colonel in the Pennsylvania militia during the Revolutionary War. He was murdered in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in 1791. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and elsewhere.
