Written by a Soviet émigré and scholar of Marxism, the book begins with the author’s recounting of the end of the Cold War. Despite the common perception that democracy defeated communism, the author presents evidence that the Democratic Party has adopted Marxism in a new philosophy he calls Liberal Bolshevism. Mr. Markovsky trucks the origins of Liberal Bolshevism back to the policies of Woodrow Wilson and FDR and chronicles the transformation of the Democratic Party into the Social Democratic Party. Through the prism of Marxism the author traces the rhythms and patterns of the toxic amalgamation of liberalism and socialism from Lenin to Obama and binds together the Democratic Party’s policies into a Marxist-socialist cause that American Social Democrats, just like their Soviet predecessors, are committed to achieving at all costs. Herein, the reader will find a reassessment of accepted postulates exposing the deeply rooted racism and anti-Semitism of the Democratic Party. The book also challenges vested views of socialism and capitalism. Overall, the work is intended as a dissident course of economics and political education. It is explosive and insightful.

This intensely interesting—and troubling—book is the product of a lifetime of reflection and study of democracy. In it, John Lukacs addresses the questions of how our democracy has changed and why we have become vulnerable to the shallowest possible demagoguery. Lukacs contrasts the political systems, movements, and ideologies that have bedeviled the twentieth century: democracy, Liberalism, nationalism, fascism, Bolshevism, National Socialism, populism. Reflecting on American democracy, Lukacs describes its evolution from the eighteenth century to its current form—a dangerous and possibly irreversible populism. This involves, among other things, the predominance of popular sentiment over what used to be public opinion. This devolution has happened through the gigantic machinery of publicity, substituting propaganda—and entertainment—for knowledge, and ideology for a sense of history. It is a kind of populism that relies on nationalism and militarism to hold society together. Lukacs's observations are original, biting, timely, sure to inspire lively debate about the precarious state of American democracy today.

A series of articles by philosopher Anthony M. Ludovici comparing the achievements of National Socialist Germany and Fascist Italy and those of the liberal democracies-and Britain in particular. This collection starts with a 1936 eye-witness review of Germany, written after a personal visit to that country. Ludovici describes how the Hitler government set about solving the unemployment crisis, a declining population, and urbanisation. It also includes fascinating statistics on how the crime rate had been reduced, how many home start-up loans had been granted to new couples (repayable by having children), and of the number of new farmers created over the previous three years. He also describes the workings of eugenics courts and other measures to improve the health and well-being of the population. The second essay is a review of a 1921 book explaining the application of Fascism in Italy, in which Ludovici takes the opportunity to describe the origin and meaning of that ideology for Italy-and what it achieved in opposing Communism. The rest of the book consists of a number of essays studying the practical application of liberal democracy in western nations, focusing on Britain, the author's native country. In these essays, Ludovici shows how the core of liberalism is in effect poorly-disguised Communism (in terms of its underlying principles of equality, regardless of biological reality) and also how its policies are guaranteed to lead to racial degeneracy, economic collapse and the destruction of Western civilization. The first two essays were originally published in The English Review journal, and the rest were originally published in The South African Observer in the 1950s and 1960s.

Through the prism of Marxism the author traces the rhythms and patterns of the toxic amalgamation of liberalism and socialism from Lenin to Obama. Mr. Markovsky defines President Obama as the most consequential Democratic president of the last century. The major consequence of his presidency is that he has launched the country on a course that, if not altered, will culminate in autocratic government and the abolition of civil liberties. "
