My poetry book entitled 'Nest of Bird’ is a collection of modern English poems dealing with the stern realites as well as direly sombre aspects of life that focus on how man suffers on account of hostile fate and its workings on love in the course of reaching a destination through inscrutable predicaments contrived by despair, disease and death. These collected poems conjure up a real world of melancholy that commands sympathy. The poems virtually celebrate macabre situations by means of philosophical ideas that are related to passions of life weaving a cobweb in a psychosocial domain. My poems generally represent my personal ideology as they overshadow my concepts of pessimism and realism that make a mark on my poetic creativity.

John Clare (1793-1864) is one of the most sensitive poetic observers of the natural world. Born into a rural labouring family, he felt connected to two communities: his native village and the Romantic and earlier poets who inspired him. The first part of this study of Clare and community shows how Clare absorbed and responded to his reading of a selection of poets including Chatterton, Bloomfield, Gray and Keats, revealing just how serious the process of self-education was to his development. The second part shows how he combined this reading with the oral folk-culture he was steeped in, to create an unrivalled poetic record of a rural culture during the period of enclosure, and the painful transition to the modern world. In his lifelong engagement with rural and literary life, Clare understood the limitations as well as the strengths in communities, the pleasures as well as the horrors of isolation.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806– 1861) was an English poet of the Victorian era who garnered significant renown in both Britain and the United States. Browning began writing poetry from the age of eleven and her early work, kept safe by her mother, constitutes one of the largest collections of juvenilia in existence. Her poetry collection “Poems” (1844) brought her popular acclaim, as well the attention of Robert Browning. Fearing her father's disapproval, the two corresponded and eventually in secret. Browning had a significant influence on many writers of her day, including Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe. Other notable works by this writer include: "How Do I Love Thee?" (1845) and “Aurora Leigh” (1856). Ragged Hand is proud to be publishing this brand new collection of classic poetry now complete with illustrations by Archibald Thorburn and an excerpt by John Burroughs.

What do you think of when you see a birds NEST? Home, Nurturing, Comfort, Security, Protected, Cared for? A nest is a carefully crafted place that provides structure, safety, warmth, and caring. This guide was created with the intent of helping others create a NEST for individual giving and receiving care. This information is to foster an understanding between the care receiver and the care giver and to enable them to create and enjoy their own nest despite any emotional, physical or cognitive difficulties. You will "hear their voice" through their poetry and get a sense of what is inside the head of a person with cognitive impairment. This poetry is a selection of the poems from the book Poetry of Positive Aging, written and complied in 2004. These poems were written, over the course of a year, by older adult, living in Charlotte County, Fl, who attended The Center for Positive Aging. Very little guideline is needed to use this manual. One suggestion is to select one or more poems and read it to the support group, keeping in mind that most of these poems were written by people with cognitive impairment. This is an opportunity to hear what it feels like from their perspective. You may wish to provide copies of the selected poems for the participants to read themselves. The opposing pages supply possible discussion questions and tips for facilitating the discussion. If reading it as an individual
