From the UK bestselling author of I, Cosmo comes an inspirational guide to living your best life -- with a wild twist. Every animal is wonderful at being themselves, and if we’re observant, we can let them teach us how to be our kindest, bravest, best selves as well. Humans are a unique species, but still very much a part of the animal kingdom. We dream like cats, grieve like whales, bond like barn owls. In Roar Like a Lion, you’ll find advice from some of the wisest creatures on Earth: Dogs who exhibit mindfulness. Penguins who pick perfect pebbles and refuse to care about what other penguins think. Every animal illustrates how they thrive, offering a model of how you might choose to thrive too. If we’re willing to listen -- to follow the pawprints that lead us to that kinder, braver, more courageous way of life. Bursting with fascinating facts, remarkable true stories and a whole lot of heart, Carlie Sorosiak has written an uplifting call to arms, inspiring children to listen to the roar of the wild and grow as human beings... while having plenty of fun along the way! Did you ever think that there is more to life than meets the eye or that one can ever imagine? This is a metaphysical question, but one that is worth pondering. It would be a shame if the world was only what we perceived and saw with the naked eye. How many would fathom the idea that the illusionary could become reality? Very few would perhaps. However, it is important to realize that life is not what we think it appears to be. There is more to what is real than meets the eye and our senses. And that is precisely what this novel is about. It is about stretching our idea of what is real and Robert Linn does a great job conveying this idea. Over and over throughout the novel, Robert Linn invokes examples of how illusions can be real. Illusions can come to us in many different forms from dreams to daydreams. They can give us inspiration and something to look forward to. The book is about a store called the Emporium of Illusions. At the beginning of the novel a wealthy businessman comes to a small town and buys a big old building that has been vacant for a while. But as time goes on, he not only renovates the building to house his new business, but the intrigue of the business itself raises a lot of eyebrows and the small town is never the same again. Peoples minds and hearts are changed and stretched. I loved the novel in that it appealed to my philosophical background. There is nothing better than a well written metaphysical novel to keep you wondering what will happen next. And Robert Linns book promises to deliver that and more. It is a wonderful joyride of adventure and intrigue. When I started reading it, I couldnt stop until I finished it. And Im sure all readers will have similar experience. Irene Roth

Late one June night in 2011, a large animal collided with an SUV cruising down a Connecticut parkway. The creature appeared as something out of New England's forgotten past. Beside the road lay a 140-pound mountain lion. Speculations ran wild, the wildest of which figured him a ghostly survivor from a bygone century when lions last roamed the eastern United States. But a more fantastic scenario of facts soon unfolded. The lion was three years old, with a DNA trail embarking from the Black Hills of South Dakota on a cross-country odyssey eventually passing within thirty miles of New York City. It was the farthest landbound trek ever recorded for a wild animal in America, by a barely weaned teenager venturing solo through hostile terrain. William Stolzenburg retraces his two-year journey--from his embattled birthplace in the Black Hills, across the Great Plains and the Mississippi River, through Midwest metropolises and remote northern forests, to his tragic finale upon Connecticut's Gold Coast. Along the way, the lion traverses lands with people gunning for his kind, as well as those championing his cause. Heart of a Lion is a story of one heroic creature pitting instinct against towering odds, coming home to a society deeply divided over his return. It is a testament to the resilience of nature, and a test of humanity's willingness to live again beside the ultimate symbol of wildness.
