"In the 1902 edition of the Hughes Family of Kentucky and Virginia, the bulk of the data was obtained from the family records of my mother, Mary Esther (Hughes) Sullivan; my sister, Lucinda Blackmore (Sullivan) Davis; my great aunt, Martha Hughes, and the family Bible of my great grandmother, Esther (Cox) Hughes, H4NNH C5H.
