Ana Rossetti is a unique phenomenon in Spanish culture, a performer and a writer who resists categorization within any single genre, gender, period, or medium. One of the most exciting Spanish writers of the last twenty-five years, Rossetti can be both transgressive and playful, employing erotic signs (fetishes, taboos) derived from fashion, literature, design, pornography, psychology, theater, drag, and Catholicism to destabilize critical, analytic, political, social, and gender categories. Critics, however, have faced a dilemma that this book seeks to overcome: how to define her work - which bridges high and low cultures and includes poetry, fiction, essay, fashion, drama, children's literature, and opera - without resorting back to the very categories that her own artistic practice questions.

The Handbook of Spanish-English Translation is a lively and accessible book for students interested in translation studies and Spanish. This book details the growth of translation studies from Cicero to postcolonial interpretations of translation as rewriting. It examines through examples the main issues involved in translation and interpretation, such as text types, register, interference, equivalence and untranslatability. The chapters on interpretation and audiovisual translation and the comparative analysis of Spanish and English are especially significant. The second part of the book offers a rich compilation of diverse Spanish and English texts (academic, literary, and government writings, comic strips, brochures, movie scripts and newspapers) and their published translations, each with a brief introduction by Professor Aranda.

Through one hundred four images, A Strange World / Un mundo raro takes us on a journey of unexpected encounters with diabolic creatures, fictional characters, rare formations, paradoxical contours and laughable objects. Whether spooky or comical the images arrive with Aguilar's signature aesthetic. The photographs were captured in the streets and alleys of Washington, D.C. We walk them everyday without observing the strange world that surrounds us.
