Abraham to his father: I own nothing for you from Allah's chastisement The words of Abraham and those who believed with him - Our Lord! In Thee we put our trust - Our Lord! We turn to your obedience, - Our Lord! Unto You is the return in the Hereafter. In in the words of Abraham, there is a good example to emulate for: - Everyone who obeys to Allah - Everyone who fears Allah - Everyone who believes in the Last Day and resurrection after death. What was the Religion of Abraham's father? Abraham said to his father Azar: Do you take idols as Gods, to worship? Satan and Abraham's father Abraham was a prophet sent to his people Abraham believed in faith and he was an extremely truthful man Abraham said unto his father: - Why do you worship that which neither hears nor sees? - My father! there has come to me of knowledge from Allah - My father! whoever worships other than Allah will go to Fire - My father! follow me regarding Allah's religion - My father! Do not worship Satan, - My father! I do fear lest Allah's chastisement should befall you, Abraham's father said: - Do you reject the worship of my deities, O Abraham? - I shall surely assault you, with stones and I will kill you O Abraham - Leave me and do not speak with me for a long time. Abraham said unto his father: - My father! Peace be to you, from me - My father! I shall ask forgiveness of my Lord for you. - I will supplicate hopefully I shall be blessed and I shall not be rejected. Abraham left his father, his community and homeland Allah, blessed Abraham and gave him Isaac and he saw his son Jacob Allah gave Abraham, three Prophets, Ishmael, Isaac and Jacob Allah favored them with being praised by other Abraham and his Atheist father Summary of the verses 19:41-48 It is not for the Prophet to ask forgiveness for the idolaters, even though they be kinsmen If the idolaters having died as disbelievers they will be inhabitants of the Hell-fire What about Abraham's prayer for the forgiveness of his father? Abraham denied his father when it became clear to him that he was an enemy of Allah It was never Allah's part that he should send a folk astray Allah is Knower of all things including who deserves to be sent astray, or to be guided Allah is Aware of all things, the abrogated and the abrogating Unto Allah belonged the sovereignty of the stores of the heavens Unto Allah belonged the sovereignty of the stores of the earth O humankind! You do not have besides Allah any protector It is more than enough for the believers that they have Allah's protection and support The unbelievers always say: we are following our fathers' faith and religion Even I bring you better guidance than what you found your fathers following? Even if I bring you a truer religion than that you found your fathers following? They answered: Lo! We do not believe in what you bring of Scripture Behold then how was the sequel for the deniers Abraham said unto his father: - I am innocent of that which you worship - Except Him Who created me; - For He will indeed guide me', - "There is no deity except Allah" When the Quran, came to them, the unbelievers said, - 'This is sorcery, and we are indeed disbelievers in it'. - This is mere magic, it is a mere lie, However, the truth cannot be confused with sorcery. The unbelievers say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a great man of the two cities? Allah chose a man whose supreme qualities were his morality and dedication Allah mercy is Limitless! Allah has apportioned among them their wealth and children in the life of this world Paradise for the believers is better than the wealth that they amass

Dear non-believer, I like that when the infuriating alarm clock yells Wake up, theres a challenge waiting for you today, rousing you from a pleasant dream, you do not smash it. You simply slap the off button and head to work. Lets establish this: Your boss doesnt care how you view your alarm clock. He or she only cares that you show up at work on time with a smile on your face. Saying, Scientists have figured it out ... There is no god; and there is no need for one, is common nowadays to counter Christians, Muslims and Jews, who turn up saying, Wake up, atheist. Theres a challenge waiting for you in the afterlife. Unfortunately, that response can be illogical: Ask any scientist, Is the scientific community sure there is no creator? and the likely answer will be, No, we are only about 99% sure. Anyone could be wrong, as Richard Dawkins said. The common response makes you a 1% gambler and frames you as defending personal conclusions instead of facts. It makes sense to defend statements such as that DNA decides biological characteristics such as eye and skin color and that chimps are our biological cousins, because these are facts. However, defending the statement There is no creator; after reading Adams story has nothing to do with defending facts. The only fact in the Adam story is that if we have a creator, he paid no attention to science while introducing himself to our ancestors. Instead, he preferred to focus on teaching them how to overcome the challenges of life. There are atheists who believe in science, but do not use it as the base of their arguments, they say We dont care when there is no evidence. Be careful using this kind of reasoning. It is true that sometimes the problem is that there is no evidence. But sometimes, the problem is that there is no desire to see the evidence. There is a story about a police officer who released a murderer despite having video of him committing the crime. What was the officers rationale for dismissing the evidence you might ask. It was made by the victim;. Maybe the difference is little between the police officer and atheists who label the books, in which the Abraham story and the Mary story are written, as man-made rather than possible evidence or product of divine intervention. The troubling situation, if youll allow me to call it so, is easy to solve. Do you remember what we established about your boss? Think about it ... The creator, if he does exist, should not be less understanding or less open-minded than your boss. So what if you view todays Christians, Muslims and Jews as infuriating alarm clocks? What you should care about is leaving this world with a wide, confident smile similar to the smile of a confident employee when he or she says, Good morning; to their colleagues and boss. I am aware that you dont deem books worth reading, unless their titles are such as God Is Not Great; or God Is So Bad, but I kindly ask you to make an exception. I want to draw that confident smile on your face. Considering the ignorance of contemporary Christians, Muslims and Jews, nothing should be easier than drawing that smile. Always remember that there is 1% probability that a creator does exist. It is not good form for you to look disoriented if the Creator says to you, Okay, numb-skull, I appreciate your refusal to be a Christian, a Muslim or a Jew, but tell me: Why did you think I was less understanding and open-minded than your boss? Have I not made from an atheist a role model for you? What more did you want from me? Also, tell me why you have released me although I left in your hands books in which I admitted committing crimes against your kind?

The Father of the Prophets (3) Abraham and his Atheist people The story of Abraham and his Atheist Father is mentioned in seven chapters of the Quran In his book, you will read about: Abraham and his Atheist people and Abraham and the super Atheist Nimrud, Nimrud denied the existence of any god but himself In the beginning, Allah had given Abraham his righteousness when he was young Abraham said to his people, what are these images to which you are so devoted? Abraham's people said: We found our ancestors worshipping them Abraham's people said: Do you bring us the truth, or are you mocking us? Abraham said to his people your Lord is the Owner, of the heavens and the earth, Abraham said to his people, your Lord originated them without any precedent Abraham said this to himself: by Allah, I shall destroy your idols for sure! Abraham destroyed all the idols save the chief of them, he left it intact Would his people turn to the intact idol and ask him how it all happened? Abraham's people returned to find the utter destruction of their idols except the largest one Abraham went to their idols and saw many food and fruit before them Abraham said sarcastically: Will you not eat? Abraham said mockingly: What is the matter with you that you do not speak? Abraham fell upon their idols, smiting them with his right hand Abraham's people came running towards him, and they said to him, We worship them while you smash them?! Abraham said: Do you worship something that you have carved Abraham said: It is Allah who has created you and all your handiwork Worship should be addressed to the Maker, not to what is made Abraham's people said: Build him a pyre and throw him into the blazing fire Abraham's people schemed to harm him, but Allah caused them to be humiliated Abraham's people said: Who has done this to our gods? Truly he must be an evildoer Abraham's people said: is it you who has done this to our gods, O Abraham? Abraham said: You ask me! Why don't you ask the idols? Doesn't it look as if this big fellow has smashed the smaller ones in a quarrel? So question them, if they can speak so that they can tell you who broke them Abraham people was very furious, they said: Burn Abraham and stand by your gods and avenge your deities They then tied up Abraham, placed him in a ballista and they threw him in the Fire. Allah, exalted be He, said: fire, be coolness against your heat for Abraham fire, be peace and safety from your coolness for Abraham The fire was cool and a source of inner peace for Abraham to enjoy and relax in Allah rescued Abraham from the Fire Abraham said: Allah is He Who: Created me, and He Guides me to the Truth, Provides for me with food to eat and with water to drink, Cures me when I am sick, Will make me die then Will give me life again on the Day of Judgment, Will, I hope, forgive me my iniquity on the Day of Reckoning In his Prayer, Abraham shows what his deepest wishes are; he said: Grant me unerring judgement, vouchsafe me wisdom, Grant me understanding and knowledge, Unite me with the righteous, the prophets and the messengers, in Paradise Give unto me a good report Give unto me a good mention in later generations, those who come after me Place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight And forgive my father and guide my father through me And forgive my father, for indeed he is one of those who are astray And do not disgrace me on the Day of Judgment Do not chastise me on the day when they are raised from the graves Look how Abraham define the Day of Judgment in few words, he said: The day when the abundance of wealth avail not any man The day when the abundance of sons avail not any man The day when nothing will then avail except a pure heart"

The first and most complete religion belonged to Adam and Eve. They lived with God, and after being cast out, they retained a memory of living in God's presence. Adam taught the first eight patriarchs born after him the Religion of the Fathers, which involved direct communion, contact, and connection between mankind and God. It enabled the faithful to hear directly from the Lord His promise of eternal life, to seal them by covenant into His Heavenly Family. Despite nearly universal apostasy and rebellion against God while Adam lived, the line of first or Patriarchal Fathers preserved the true religion. Their religion was Adam's religion, and their understanding reached back to the Garden of Eden. They experienced visions, ascended into Heaven, obtained promises of exaltation, and were transformed by their experiences from men into angels of God. After Shem (Melchizedek), an apostasy lasted until Abraham. Although he was raised by an idolater, Abraham searched for the true God of Heaven. He "sought for the blessings of the Fathers," the very thing Malachi prophesies will return before the great and dreadful return of the Lord. Like Adam (at the beginning) and his descendant, Enoch, Abraham was caught up into Heaven and received a tutorial endowment from God. The covenant of the first Fathers was renewed and conferred upon him by Melchizedek, thereby restoring continuity back to Adam. Abraham represents the key Patriarchal Father prophesied of in Malachi. Abraham not only renewed the covenant of the Fathers (including Noah and Enoch), but also, through the Abrahamic covenant, God established Abraham as the new head of the family of God on Earth. The Book of Abraham has become a battleground because it is so important for our salvation. Recovering the Religion of the Fathers, becoming of one heart with the Fathers, and fulfilling the prophecy of Malachi are directly connected to Abraham. The more we can learn of Abraham, the more we can know of the covenant with the Fathers spoken of by Malachi, and those same blessings of the Fathers that will be administered again before the end. We can, if faithful, obtain all that the original Fathers received from God at the beginning. Therefore, any book written by Abraham should be priceless to us. The Lord's "strange act" is approaching completion. The promises made to the Fathers are being vindicated. The Restoration has recommenced, and if we are faithful, it will not be paused or interrupted again. Although Israel's numbers are few, there have never been great numbers willing to sacrifice everything for God. The Religion of the Fathers presents a strong defense of the authenticity of the Book of Abraham as translated through Joseph Smith Jr. in 1835, and subsequently published in the Times & Seasons in 1842. It also presents an expanded view of the Restoration of the gospel, its ancient roots, current covenants, and prophesied future. Topics covered include Christianity, miracles, heaven, hell, the apocalypse, truth, the Bible, the devil, historical evidence, Lectures on Faith, the Ten Commandments, signs of the times, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, the law of consecration, the Joseph Smith Papers, Joseph's journal, the translation process, the destiny of the Christian church, polygamy, saving grace, and many more.

How do I know it's God? is one of the most commonly asked questions of new and mature Christians alike, and the aim of God Conversations is to both equip and inspire the reader and show them that hearing the voice of the Spirit is accessible to everyone who chooses to follow Jesus. Most Christians know that God speaks, yet struggle with how to recognise his voice in their everyday lives. What does God's voice sound like? How do we know if what we're hearing is from God? Stories of God talking to his people abound throughout the Bible, but we usually only get the highlights. We read; "And God said to Joseph; 'Go to Egypt'," and then; "Mary and Joseph left for Egypt." We don't get a blow-by-blow description of how God spoke. We don't receive a detailed explanation of how they knew it was God, and we don't get to see what was going on inside their heads as they acted on what they'd heard. In God Conversations, international speaker and pastor Tania Harris shares insights from her own journey about hearing God's voice. You'll get to eavesdrop on some contemporary conversations with God in the light of his communication with the ancient characters of the Bible. Part memoir, part teaching, this unique and creative collection of stories will help you to recognise God's voice when he speaks and how to respond when you do.

Speaking of Abraham, it is not the simple tale of a character of antiquity, who was famous Abraham that the Bible presents as the father of a people, that is the Jews. Because if this is true, in that it cannot be disputed, according to what the Bible says, it is also true that Abraham is not only the acknowledged father of the Jews, but it is also the father of faith, as the New Testament recognizes it as such. The purpose of our intervention, is not only to talk about this, but mainly highlight the characteristics that Abraham had that from the point of view of faith, made him famous, not only among the Jews, but also in the midst of Christianity. In fact, when Christianity speaks of Abraham and holds him up for example of faith, it does so primarily on the basis of the characteristics that showed in believing in God and in having faith in Him, in all that which God said and the promises the he promised. These are the essential elements of antiquity proved that this man in his time, which made him famous in this area of life, Christianity, do not hesitate to call the Christian character, supported especially by the testimony that the same Jesus He made when talking about him, and pointed for example model to the religious Jews who constantly challenged.

The Jefferson Bible, or The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth as it is formally titled, was a book constructed by Thomas Jefferson in the latter years of his life by cutting and pasting numerous sections from various Bibles as extractions of the doctrine of Jesus. Jefferson's composition excluded sections of the New Testament containing supernatural aspects as well as perceived misinterpretations he believed had been added by the Four Evangelists. In 1895, the Smithsonian Institution under the leadership of librarian Cyrus Adler purchased the original Jefferson Bible from Jefferson's great-granddaughter Carolina Randolph for $400. A conservation effort commencing in 2009, in partnership with the museum's Political History department, allowed for a public unveiling in an exhibit open from November 11, 2011, through May 28, 2012, at the National Museum of American History.

America’s leading religious scholar and public intellectual introduces lay readers to the Qur’an with a measured, powerful reading of the ancient text Garry Wills has spent a lifetime thinking and writing about Christianity. In What the Qur’an Meant, Wills invites readers to join him as he embarks on a timely and necessary reconsideration of the Qur’an, leading us through perplexing passages with insight and erudition. What does the Qur’an actually say about veiling women? Does it justify religious war? There was a time when ordinary Americans did not have to know much about Islam. That is no longer the case. We blundered into the longest war in our history without knowing basic facts about the Islamic civilization with which we were dealing. We are constantly fed false information about Islam—claims that it is essentially a religion of violence, that its sacred book is a handbook for terrorists. There is no way to assess these claims unless we have at least some knowledge of the Qur’an. In this book Wills, as a non-Muslim with an open mind, reads the Qur’an with sympathy but with rigor, trying to discover why other non-Muslims—such as Pope Francis—find it an inspiring book, worthy to guide people down through the centuries. There are many traditions that add to and distort and blunt the actual words of the text. What Wills does resembles the work of art restorers who clean away accumulated layers of dust to find the original meaning. He compares the Qur’an with other sacred books, the Old Testament and the New Testament, to show many parallels between them. There are also parallel difficulties of interpretation, which call for patient exploration—and which offer some thrills of discovery. What the Qur’an Meant is the opening of a conversation on one of the world’s most practiced religions.
